Fiddle player, vocals and producer. Born and raised in the cotton patches around Eunice, Louisiana. Nelson moved from Louisiana over 40 years ago to reside in Richmond, Texas at present. Nelson began playing the fiddle at the of 10, and has played with a Zydeco band. He continues to play with many Cajun bands as a fiddler and vocalist. He is also a excellent fiddle maker and competitive champ.

Derek Thibodeaux
Lead Guitarist. Tom was born in Bryan, TX. but raised in Houston. He began playing guitar at age 13 and 39 years later, he still enjoys every minute of it. He had already played with many musicians and bands in the area up until 1989 when he joined "Black Jack County". He continue to be a member today. It was Black Jack's lead singer, Brett Ferguson, who began calling him "Tom Cruz" because he could not pronounce Tom's last name. It stuck! Tom has been playing with the Thibodeaux Cajun Band for many years. He now resides in Missouri City, TX, with wife Cindy. He says " When playing music stops being fun, it's time to quit....Fat chance of that happening!"

Bass Player, vocals, sound, and co-producer. Derek is the son of Nelson (above), moved to Houston from Lake Charles, Louisiana while he was young. He grew up in the Houston area in a Cajun home. He was surrounded by Cajun music all of his life. He has played rhythm guitar since childhood. He has also played in a country band while he continues to play with other Cajun bands as rhythm guitarist, bass player and vocalist.

Drummer. Scott is the youngest member of the band. His family roots are in the growing town of Westlake, Louisiana. Scott joined the band in 2004 where his love of playing Cajun music is equally measured by the love he has for his family. Playing with the band is not just a gig for him but somewhat of a family reunion. He admires his fellow members who join him in keeping their Cajun heritage alive. Scott continues to play drums for church as well as the Sammy Ramos Band.

Tom "Cruz" Bernal
Accordion player. Jason started playing the accordion at the age of 12. he grew up around the Eunice and Mamou area in a community called Durald. At the age of 14, Jason began playing drums. He has played with many Cajun bands through out Louisiana. Jason learned by watching and listening to many great accordion players. He has played all around the U.S, as well as, France with different bands. He played most of the time with Fred Charlie and the Acadiana Cajun Band from Eunice. Fred is Nelson's brother-in-law and Derek's uncle. Jason moved to Houston about 2 years ago with his fiance, Maggie. He then began playing accordion with the Thibodeaux Cajun Band. He also plays drums with Cory McCauley and the Evangeline Aces.

Jason Babineaux
Keith Dupuis
Accordion player / Drummer. Keith is from Carencro, Louisiana. He began playing drums at the age of 5 and by 8 years old he was playing with the local Cajun and country bands. He continued to play in the bands of Lafayette area. Everything from Bach to rock. It was Keith’s grandfather, Frank, that taught Keith the accordion in his early teens. Keith founded the Bayou Roux Cajun Band – variety band, traveling nationally and internationally performing at major festivals and venues. He enjoys playing with the Thibodeaux Cajun Band, to as he puts “it keeps me grounded in the traditional style of Cajun music that is near and dear to me”.
